ITS wireless roadside unit

ITS wireless roadside unit

This unit uses radio communications using the 760 MHz band exclusively allocated for ITS to transmit and receive information to and from on-board units and other roadside units.
In the communications with on-board units, travel information is gathered from an emergency vehicle as uplink information, and emergency vehicle approaching information is provided to general vehicles travelling nearby as downlink information.

■Structure, etc.

The unit consists of a controller, an ITS radio antenna, and a GNSS antenna.
The unit is also connected by wire to other terminal devices, such as traffic signal controllers and vehicle detectors, and the central device.

■Features

The following optional functions are also available.

Driving safety support systems (DSSS)
As information useful for safe driving, the unit can also provide on-board units with information based on the traffic light color changing schedule, presence of vehicles and pedestrians in the driver’s blind spot, and other information as downlink information.

Infrastructure-to-infrastructure communications
Installation of this unit at an adjacent intersection allows radio communications between the intersections.

Terminal-to-terminal wireless transmission equipment

This device uses radio communications to transmit and receive data, such as information detected by vehicle detectors, between terminals.

■Structure, etc.

This device consists of a controller and a radio antenna.
Various types of antenna can be selected according to the application.

■Features

Wireless connection between terminal devices in the intersection eliminates the need for overhead wire installation.
Additional installation of this device at the required relaying location allows the relay of communications to and from the outside of the field of vision.
